Valentines day

Slide on that silky red dress,
Painted nails, luscious lips to match
Every little detail made to impress,

As the man downstairs waits
A handful of red roses,
Growing thorns of their fates.

A simple table in the corner
Lit by small candlelight,
Tempting lovers to lean in closer

Empty wine glasses glisten,
As forgotten drops slide down
She’s drawn in to listen

Three simple words spoken for the first time
Tears overflow, spilling happiness
Never treating her less than a hime,

And a promise to never falter
As he lays down his dedication,
Of this future through every balter
